School of Tactics

Charter

The School of Tactics offers a program of interactive instruction and a series of exercises, that includes the Famous Battles of the ACW Series, that supports the instruction of the Academy (CWOL) as well as the Academy at St Cyr (NWOL)  in their training programs of new cadets and  members of the Players' Guild. Additionally, if time allows, the School cadre will support tactical refresher training of the national teams in CWOL or NWOL. The cadre of the School will assist in the processing and administration of the exercises as coordinated by the Commandant-General of the War College, team captains of the Players Guild teams, a Minister of War in NWOL or a national team Secretary of War in CWOL . However, the formulation of a national training program, supplemental mentoring and/or remedial instruction is the responsibility of the appointed team official, i.e., the Inspector General in CWOL.

Utilization of the School of Tactics

The School of Tactics will support any training program provided:

• assistance is requested
• appropriate advance notice is made to the cadre
• there are no conflicts identified by the cadre upon receiving the request for assistance
• the national Inspector General,, appointed team representative, assigned Deputy Commandant, or Guild event manager sets a completion date for the exercise

The coordinating official or team representative must:

• identify the exercise to be run
• identify the start and stop dates of the exercise
• specify the turn frequency of the exercise (1x, 2x, or 3x per week)
• perform Super User functions for the exercise

The exercise GA will:

• run the turn(s)
• post the exercise Battle News to a Web Site
• provide a "ground truth" map for the Inspector General or coordinating official, if requested
• provide an archive file of the exercise to the Inspector General or coordinating official.

The exercise GA can stop the exercise without notice for player non-compliance of game procedure or failure of player participation
