The School of Doctrine offers basic information in the areas of theory and organization of the American Civil War (ACW) era as well as articles and reference pages concerning the Napoleonic era. Within the CWOL area lessons learned from previous CWOLs are incorporated in part of the articles. This information is presented in a series of Web Pages which are available to compliment any national training program
Some Web Pages in this curriculum are linked to interactive exercises in the School of Tactics and School of Advanced Studies. While nothing here at the War College is prescriptive, it is suggested that those doctrinal pieces associated with the exercises be part of any national training program.
The School of Doctrine supports any national training program. While the involvement of the school cadre is mainly passive there will be occasions where certain Web Pages will be revised and updated. In these cases, the cadre will notify the national SecWar (CWOL) or War Minister (NWOL) of the changes and which URLs were affected.
The school cadre is available for consultation by any of the national Inspector Generals for any subject in the school curriculum. Additionally, if requested by any national SecWar or War Minister, the school cadre is available for research and development of additional Web Pages in the areas of doctrine, theory, organization, or tactical or operational level techniques for the ACW or Napoleonic eras.
