Alpha-5 Test Home Page

This is the Home Page for the WBTS August 2006 Alpha Test (Alpha Test #5). It is sponsored by the Historical Online Learning Foundation's Studies Group. All visitors are welcome, however, participation in this test is at the discretion of the Test Director.

Alpha-5 Test Objective

This test is conducted to evaluate the stability of the WBTS code to process orders from a large group of players and to responsively simulate a multi-theater campaign in the WBTS game engine.

What's  New

bullet[15 August] Karl Chandler - USA (kchandler1@stny.rr.com ) and Paul Hartley - CSA (paulhart@spenna.com.au) appointed CGs for the USA team and the CSA team respectively.
bullet[25 Sept] To test the revised PEP software a limited number of Governorships have been made. The Governorships are listed at > STATE HOUSE/STATE APPOINTMENTS < on the pull-down menu after you do player log-in. These Governors will be able to ASSIGN the units of their state to active players.
bullet[13 Nov] BEFORE YOU SUBMIT ORDERS FOR T5-CM3 all players must download and install WBTS ver 4.0.7 .exe file.  Go here and follow the instructions for "current WBTS .exe" download.

[27 Nov] The WBTS Alpha Test starts a week of 24-hour turns on Monday, 27 Nov. Orders will be processed every day at 3AM (EST-USA) (guess no daylight savings time shift in Australia). Monday's turn will be PEP submissions. Tuesday's (actually at 3AM Weds) turn will be the 1st turn of the new Campaign Mode. The CM will go 3x turns (3AM Wednesday through 3AM Friday) take the week-end off and pick up the fight again on Monday at 3AM (Sunday's orders)

[20 Dec] The ALPHA-5 Test has concluded.   Go here for download of the final turn (T6-CM5) results (afternoon - 24 January 1864). The Test Director and staff of the ALPHA-5 Test would like to thank the players for their support and relible participation through the 25+ turns of the game. There will be a post-test forum for discussion of the software and to foster ideas to improve the game engine. Stand ready for subsequent notifications.
